And Today is Brought to By the Letter H

That's right y'all this post is brought to you by the letter H as in Hip Kit Club! I am delighted to share
I was in TjMaxx shopping for luggage when I got the message from Kimberly asking me to join her team to say I got little happy was an understatement I got all giddy and did a little dance enough of a show that a store employee came to see if I needed help. "Uh nope just trying to decide if I need this extra bag to go with these 2, oh I can see you're happy about those 2 so you should get the bigger too." I device against the bigger but I did wear a huge smile the rest of that rainy day!

I truly think these kits are a perfect match for me and my style of scrapbooking. I love how Kimberly's(the owner) mind works it's like she can see my wants list and puts it together in kits.

JUNE 2014 EMBELLISHMENT KIT
I love that the kit and add-ons are affordably priced and will fit any scrappers style.

JUNE 2014 COLOR ADD-ON KIT
The color kits have me thinking outside the box and I love that. I'm excited to share what I have in mind for this months Heidi Swapp Mini Stencils.

JUNE 2014 STAMP ADD-ON
One thing that I think stands out about the stamp add-on with Hip Kit Club is that K usually includes some sort of supply to use with the stamp like ink or embossing powder. so cool.

JUNE 2014 PATTERN PAPER ADD-ON

June 2014 Add-On CARDSTOCK

I'll be back soon to share some sneaks using these awesome kits! Thanks for letting me share my exciting news and if you have time take a look at the fabulous kit Kimberly puts together I know you'll love them!

this one time with... Epiphany Crafts

Today I thought I would share a couple photos of projects and the EC booth from CHA. Many of you know over the last 3(***oops edited I thought it was 4 but it's 3years) I've been creating projects for Epiphany Crafts for their displays at CHA,trade show booths, and HSN.
I love working with Brian and Tricia!

It's been so fun! They get me and are always telling me how awesome my designs are(duh who wouldn't love that, right?!?). I've been able to travel some and I feel as if they have given me that little push that I needed in this industry. Thanks for that!!!

Together Brian and Tricia came up with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio which I absolutely love!
There are 17 different designs now. I have my favorites but I will leave y'all wondering which ones because seriously you have to pick one up and try it. I would probably suggest starting with one of the circles or square tools and bubble caps.

a pic of the booth from CHA-W 2014

This year Epiphany Crafts came out with the Chevron and the Butterfly. OMG when I got these 2 in the mail I about cartwheeled around the house. I LOVE both of them!!

**Crappy pics taken right before the hand off in the bad hotel light with an iphone.**

I actually ran out of both shapes epoxies creating projects for CHA. There are lots more pics of projects from the booth floating around on the web. I actually didn't take any in or of the booth cause it felt weird to me since they were my own projects(i'm a dork like that!).

Seriously can't wait to see where this company goes next and continue this journey with them! I'm sure it will be AWESOME! Again thank you Brian and Tricia for EVERYTHING!!

Scrapping Sunday

Hey ya'll! Thank you for the sweet comments on my last post. No worries, you'll still be able to find me here and in my other galleries on the web.
Today I thought I would share my first layout created for Therm O Web. I love, love, love their adhesive so when I was asked to join the team of course I said YES!! When the box of adhesive arrived on my step I was in adhesive heaven! I found some products I never used before like Vellum tape. Y'all know I love vellum so I was a little skeptical with a tape because everything shows thru vellum but not this stuff, nope you don't see it. I was giddy I messaged Julia(my DT leader) right away to tell her I loved it and would need a box of it lol. You can see a step by step tutorial of how this layout came together and which products I used on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks for stopping by~

My first Chic Tags layout

Sharing my first layout created for Chic Tags.  I used an enlarged photo from my recent trip to California. Here in the land of frozen tundra aka Michigan there's snow, snow, and more snow so when I scrap photos from my trip it warms my soul and takes me to a Happy Place. The colors in the Chic Tags Happy Place line were a PERFECT match for my photos and scream California to me.

Of course there has to be layers sometimes a lot and sometimes a little. This time it was lots. I mixed layers of pattern paper wonky cut, tags, and journal cards. "The Good Stuff" was fussy cut from a mini tag then I tucked the grid background under the layers on the right. I also fussy cut the triangles at the bottom right corner from the Crisp Air paper to point out the typed "this is the life".

I hope you have been inspired to grab those photos of a happy place next time you scrapbook!

October Afternoon Creations

Here are a few of the projects i've created recently for October Afternoon.

Their Snowdate
This was for a Monday Challenge based on using triangles on your project. I used mostly the Snapshots mini collection. I love the bright colors and that typed quote on the stripe paper.

 Q
I think I have shared before that when I scrapbook and come across a background paper I want to use but it's really not working as I push around the page elements I add vellum and it totally ends up working how I thought it would. That's what I did with this page and I really like how it turned out.

 In the Backyard...
So if you've been following my work or know me you know I love my big photos and sometimes those big photos have alot of white space so I like to combine my title and journaling for one big effect. I LOVE this alpha from the October Afternoon Travel Girl line it's such a fun font!

Hopefully I've inspired you today with these 3 layouts! see you again very soon~MK

Silent Night Sketch

Today's post is my sketch post from this past week's October Afternoon blog.
2001-a-space-odyssey-poster-17

I love the bold yet simpleness of the poster. I created this simple sketch with a a few added embellishments to inspire you. I hope you like it.

Here is the layout I created:
Oabloglo

The first thing that came to mind when i started creating was that the bold vertical block would be a great place for a photostrip. I haven't scrapped many of the photos from the 2012 holiday season so the brand new Silent Night collection and this sketch was just the kick i needed to get those photos on a page. I love the classic Chrsitmas colors with the added pop of gold and chalkboard in this new line. The black chalkboard like washi tape from Silent Night is AWESOME! I used it for the journaling on the left side of the layout. The title and gift box are cut with the Cameo.

1 hour packaging layout

I thought I would share one of my challenges from the Cocoa Daisy Crop last weekend. This was a 1hour challenge meaning the ladies had 1 hour to create a layout using 3 different types of packaging and then 20minutes to photography and upload to the CD gallery. It was a lot of fun.
I posted a teaser the week leading up to the crop to give the ladies some ideas of what not to throw away? Here are some of the items.
Glassine bags your kit embellishments come in Clear plastic from embellishments
Basic Grey or MME embellishment backing
stickers from your CD bags
the clear plastic baggies from embellishments etc.
whatever packaging you want to use go ahead and use it.

Here is what I started with:
a few examples of what I did with my packaging.

Embossed the BG packaging for the background of my frame.

Stitched a shaker baggie out of an embelly baggie

Journaling on a Cocoa Diasy Stamp backing

Frame cut with my bigkick and Laina Lamb die but you could freehand it.

Stars cut from the Websters Pages packaging.

The layout again:

I hope I've inspired you to create something with packaging. Thanks for stopping by! MK
