CHA CHA CHAllenge

I've had a little me time this weekend thanks to my fab Mr.K who told me to go scrapbook and have some "Mandy Time".So that's what I did I ran with Studio Calico's CHA CHA Challenges in my hand to my scrap space and created these...

It's Me&You Dude
this one has been sitting around in my head and on the counter forever(almost 3weeks) then poof yesterday it was changed completely from the previous 8.5x11 to this and was done in like an hour. Love it.
today
This layout was created using Tina Aszmus' beautiful layout that is the sketch challenge over on the Studio Calico Blog and also fit her CHA CHA CHAlenge of scrapping a photo of yourself in the mirror. Tadah there you have t a picture of me and my big ol nose. I love it though!
1980
This layout was created for Jen Jockisch's CHA CHA CHAllenge to scrap an Old School photo.Since I don't have many of me and this here photo of a wee Mr.K has been on my computer since his mom gave it to him a few years ago i hit print and now he's on the net. He kinda chuckled about that.

I have one more that is done but I wasn't able to take a picture of it tonight so i will post it tomorrow. I have a few more i hope to get done during nap time tomorrow too.

oh i have to share this too since my wee Mr.K layout is above. Last night my inlaws came over (this a rare thing) we had dinner, chatted, the card shark aka Miss Avery and Gma K played cards, and I scrapped. I had to ask when the photo of Mr.K was taken and when I did my FIL started asking Mr.K questions about my scrapbooking that led to him hollering down to me to come share so I did and get this my inlaws were happy and excited that I have my layouts in upcoming publications, I am on a DT, and that I have this awesome hobby that documents our lives. I was kinda shocked but think it's pretty cool I mean seriously I never would have thought my FIL would have ever asked or cared about my scrapbooking. To top it off I saw how proud Mr.K was of me, my scrapbooking, and what i have accomplished in the scrapping world. Makes a girl really feel good!

Hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

~Mandy

All layouts above we created using Studio Calico Kits.

Heyah

Yes I know some you out there are wondering how the Dude is doing so I have come to post that he is doing ok he has his good days and bad days. His surgery last week was the longest 6.5 hours of my life i swear. He did good has someone else's bones in him and some metal too. He wasn't a big fan of the hospital which he showed me what he really thought of that it made me cry but I stayed strong. He also conned the Dr into releasing him early I mean seriously who could turn down the request of a non-verbal kid that says "Home" when he first sees you? Dr. knew he would do better in his own environment too.We are adjusting to all the change ok it's hard sometimes trying to carry him and casts up stairs or during those sleepless nights(thank you spasms)but we keep truckin along. I feel a little scatterbrained. We go back for his next procedure on Tuesday they will be taking out the stitches, checking the healing(if not going right the Dr will fix), and recasting. So there you have it a small update back to my post sitting next to the Dude I go. Thanks for all your support!

Hugs Mandy

Here I am again

with some layouts I created lastnight using the September and October Studio Calico kits I have sitting on my counter downstairs. I needed a break so Louis told me I should go create something and that is what i did. the first one was created with Maggie's weekly challenge in mind, the second was for the sketch challenge that is a lift of the fabulous Stephanie Howell's layout in the January gallery and the third well that was a thought i had that spewed out of my noggin. I think I may try to create a few more today too. Have a great Sunday all!

His Surgery

Hey all here is the update on Mav. He will be having reconstructive surgery on both feet on Tuesday January 18th to fix a rare foot deformity. Surgery starts at 7:30 am at the new Devos Children's Hospital. We're told that he will be in the hospital for anywheres from 3days to a week. It will be a long hard recovery and around 16 weeks in casts. We're scared, ready, nervous, and not so ready for this. This is not just some simple surgery that he'll bounce back from especially with all his other problems that make this all that much more complicated so if y'all could keep Mav in your thoughts and prayers that would be awesome and very much appreciated. I will be updating on facebook and emails and will try to do my best to post here I'm thinking I may put his blog back to public too just so I can document this new journey with him.I'm a little scatter brained right now, so many thoughts going on inside my head ahhh so I think that is all for now. Have a great weekend!

Wanna go to Paris?

Huh? yep it made me turn my head too. Apparently if you stack the pillows on the back of the couch like a saddle then you hop up on it'll take you straight to Paris non stop but make sure you have snacks ready because oh boy that rides makes your tummy hungry! She's full of imagination and ropes Mav in sometimes too.
**Disclaimer: if you try this and happen to not get the non stop flight to Paris please don't get upset I'm told that this special flight is only running out of the Koeppen's livingroom right now .

Maybe just maybe I'll have something crafty to share tomorrow night.
Toodles~

3 Scrappy Boys DT Work

Here are the layouts I created with the 3 Scrappy Boys January 2011 Trio Kit. Loved this kit! I created 8 layouts and still have plenty left from the kit to make more. Most these layouts came together in less then an hour without the journaling. Ugh right now I am struggling with my handwritten journaling I guess I'm not diggin it and it just isn't pretty. Anyways here they are...

1. This layout I loved before I journaled on it now I'm not sure I like it. It was great I had great ideas then I slapped my writing down and ugh.

2. The Dude in 2004. He's so cute!
3. The Fam this was simple and easy like 15 minutes easy.

4. Around our house in December

5. Miss A this fall. The child is always on the go go go..I wish I had her energy.

6. Another shot from this fall. This one had to be changed up last minute because my sewing machine didn't cooperate so it went from 12x12 to 8.5x11.

7. Another simple less then 30minutes. I'm so happy we finally have a good photo of the 2 of us together. Love this paper!

8. The Fam again this one just came together . Love that stitched paper in the kit!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a looksie!
