Sunday Scrapper

Hey y'all! Hope you are having a good weekend! I had some fun posts planned for Thursday and Friday but the killer migraine along with it's partner nausea took over and the posting just wasn't happening.Sorry.  Thought I would share a few more layouts with you today.

This first layout was created for the October Afternoon Thursday Sketch that was created by Amy Heller. I filled in with her this week and I love this layout. I stamped the most I've ever stamped GASP. I love the triangles right now. Simple and fun! My new favorite.

Second not the best photo of the layout but it's what I got before it was sent off to appear on HSN. This is my fabulous friend Lisa and I. I love how this one turned out. Lots of October Afternoon and Epiphany Crafts on this one.

Last is the Green layout. This was created when I partnered up with Jill Sprott on the OA blog for the 17th Monday challenge which was to create a layout using green. I kinda like this one. The story has nothing to do with the photos at all but about travel and how I'll be happy, smiling when I finally visit Europe.

Lots of layers is my thing right now along with basic shapes. Nuttin fancy :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy Shares Tuesday

First up is a fun layout I created with the March Exclusive Kit by Chic Tags. This photo of Sharmaine, Steph, Me, and Denise chomping on my cotton candy at Downtown Disney last year has been on my desk forever waiting for the perfect products to use and tahdah this kit had the best colors. SO fun!

Next is the layout I created for my Sketch post on the October Afternoon Blog. I love this photo of my lil homebodies. I've had this photo sitting on my table just staring at it then I finally glued er down. Lots of layers and I used the OA chipboard alpha leftover as a template for my stitched letters. You can find more out about how to use the leftover template on the OA blog.

Another Chic Tag layout. Can I just say how much I love my position at Chic Tags! I do I do I do! I love all my DT positions and I'm really lucky ducky! I had to make a big photo statement on this awesome paper because the beautiful print on the left called for it. I love the little tags here and there and of course my fav photo booth photos of me and the dude.

I love this photo Stephanie Wheeler took while we were at the Santa Monica Pier in January. I knew it would be printed and the main focus of a layout someday. I've had this Fancy Pants collection sitting around forever and I also had some kit leftovers so I put them to good use here. I love those big numbers. I wanted to journal 9 things I loved about that day by each number but it just didn't look right so tags did the job and tucked nicely in the upper corner.

Have I inspired you lately? If so please share a link in the comments, I'd love to see what you're creating!

5 for Friday: DJ Turn it UP!

Some of you have seen me post on Facebook every now an then that we have what I like to call "House of K Music Trivia" where Mr.K, Teagan, and myself find tunes and try to make the others figure out who the Artist is, what the name of the song is, and if you can sing it that's bonus points. i usually am the gal in the middle maybe the ref since I know mosts of the artists and songs both of them think they will stump each other with. I am also the gal that gets to shout out "DJ spin that shit!" which both Mr.K and Teagan think is hilarious because it's in reference to one of our fav movies 8 Mile(Mekhi Phifer says it during the battle scenes).  Here are 5 songs that were played this past weekend that stumped either Mr.K or Teagan.

Mr. George Strait
Teagan got this one wrong. I was surprised when Mr.K played the song he's not a big fan but he knows I am. I'll never forget my first George Strait concert OMG I was in heaven thanks to my friend Raina. I've seen him in concert a few times and I'm trying to talk Mr.K into letting me go to one of the concerts on George's Cowboy Rides Away Tour since it will be his last tour. I've been looking into tickets and the cities left I have friends nearby so I could fly in for the concert stay and leave. Wouldn't it be a dream come try to do that.

Run DMC
both got it wrong

Poison
Teagan didn't get it.  Mr.K is schooling her on rock and she's real hip on it and getting very into some of his fans and some of the newer groups.

Patsy Cline
Neither got this one either. I know it's really old but oh so classic and everyone should know her voice.

BoysIIMen
This one neither got right which is epic fail on both parts. I love this song both know I love BoysIIMen.  This song is mine and Mav's song. I sang it when I was pregnant for him and when he was a baby.

Other fails: Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Brandy & Monica, Tracy Chapman, Aerosmith,  Whitney Houston, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Garth Brooks, 2 Pac, Bush, Snoop Dogg… some by her and some by him but I knew them all! I'm pretty good at music trivia but I can't remember shit from yesterday HAHA.

Have a great Friday!

Paper Trimmers…MK's Opinions

Today I thought I would do something a little different and to be honest not sure I've done this before. I'm going to give my opinion and experience with some of the paper trimmers I've used. Yes, opinions are like a-holes we all have them so mine certainly may not be the same as your and dude that's totally ok. I am open to suggestions and your opinion just leave them in the comments please. Let's get started.

*** I do not work for any of these companies! I'm just giving my personal opinion**

I'VE TRIED FAN OR NOT A FAN

We R Memory Keeper Trim & Score Board
I've only had this for about a week and used it a couple times before reaching for my Fiskars trimmer again. I'm really glad I got this free with my pub credits because I'm not a fan. I think it would be great for the score board part but not the trimmer. I liked that it has a place to keep the score tool.
Opinion: NOT A FAN

Fiskars 152490-1002 Portable Paper Trimmer, 12-Inch

This trimmer I got at JoAnn's with a 40% coupon thank goodness otherwise I may be just a little bit more madder than I am that after 2 uses it frayed the edges of my paper because the wire that the blade runs against was messed up. Seriously brand new and it was junk already!!  I did like that it was similar to my old rotary trimmer in that it had the flip out arm, the same measuring but it had that damn wire and it messed it all up for me.
Opinion: NOT A FAN

EK Success Tools Cutterpede

This was one of the first trimmers I bought. I got it while on a trip with friends in Kansas. I thought it was going to be awesome with that flip out arm that turned in plus it was kinda rotary without the cost. I liked it for a while but them the arm broke like with in months of purchase and then it started cutting wonky so it went in the cupboard and I'm not too sure I still have it. I also didn't like that the cutting arm flipped up instead of to the side like most cutters now do. Loved the color.
Opinion: NOT A FAN

Fiskars Portable Scrapbooking Rotary Paper Trimmer, 12-Inch

This trimmer I've had for a few years now.  I really like that the measure arm can fold in and out so storage isn't an issue. This trimmer seems to cut the straightest so far unless the blade gets wonky. I've used this trimmer enough that the little orange feet things have fell off. I think I'm more of a rotary blade girl rather than the other blade kinda girl.
Every time I think of replacing it I end up going back to it because I'm not happy with the new one. Opinion: FAN

X-ACTO Designer Series 9-Inch Trimmer, Guillotine Style

I have this trimmer. I bought it on the way to a crop a few years back after i left my trusty ol Creative Memories trimmer at home. After using this one that night the Creative Memories went in the drawer and this trimmer is the one that sits out and I use all the time! I love that it's 9inches rather than 6 and I can cut larger photos that I use all the time. Plus it's a bonus storage the clear top slides down and you have 4 separate compartment things to store pens and other little things.
 Opinion: FAN

I DON'T HAVE BUT WOULD LIKE TO TRY

Fiskars 100580-1001 ProCision Trimmer

I do not have this trimmer and I have not tried it but would LOVE to!! I think this could be the replacer for my old Fiskars rotary trimmer. I like that it's big enough to correctly measure 12x12 but it also folds up for storage too. And you NEVER have to replace the blade?!?!

Cutterpillar Pro

I've heard so much about this trimmer and would LOVE to try it. One of the reasons I haven't taken the plunge to buy this trimmer is it retails for $128.99+ which I think Mr.K might have a problem with especially if it turns out I don't like it. Plus the fact that it doesn't fold down so it would have to have a permanent place on my desk which I'm not sure I want to give the space up BUT I probably would if I got it cheaper or something :) wouldn't we all? HA

I know there are hundreds of different trimmers out there so please leave a comment with the ones you use or have used. Did you like them? Have you tried either of the 2 I haven't? what do think of them?

Have a great day! I hope you have a paper trimmer you enjoy!
PS. I think Opinion Thursday might be a new weekly thing. whatya think?

this one time with... Epiphany Crafts

Today I thought I would share a couple photos of projects and the EC booth from CHA. Many of you know over the last 3(***oops edited I thought it was 4 but it's 3years) I've been creating projects for Epiphany Crafts for their displays at CHA,trade show booths, and HSN.
I love working with Brian and Tricia!

It's been so fun! They get me and are always telling me how awesome my designs are(duh who wouldn't love that, right?!?). I've been able to travel some and I feel as if they have given me that little push that I needed in this industry. Thanks for that!!!

Together Brian and Tricia came up with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio which I absolutely love!
There are 17 different designs now. I have my favorites but I will leave y'all wondering which ones because seriously you have to pick one up and try it. I would probably suggest starting with one of the circles or square tools and bubble caps.

a pic of the booth from CHA-W 2014

This year Epiphany Crafts came out with the Chevron and the Butterfly. OMG when I got these 2 in the mail I about cartwheeled around the house. I LOVE both of them!!

**Crappy pics taken right before the hand off in the bad hotel light with an iphone.**
the butterfly

the chevron

I actually ran out of both shapes epoxies creating projects for CHA. There are lots more pics of projects from the booth floating around on the web. I actually didn't take any in or of the booth cause it felt weird to me since they were my own projects(i'm a dork like that!).

Seriously can't wait to see where this company goes next and continue this journey with them! I'm sure it will be AWESOME! Again thank you Brian and Tricia for EVERYTHING!!

Scrapping Sunday

Hey ya'll! Thank you for the sweet comments on my last post. No worries, you'll still be able to find me here and in my other galleries on the web.
Today I thought I would share my first layout created for Therm O Web. I love, love, love their adhesive so when I was asked to join the team of course I said YES!! When the box of adhesive arrived on my step I was in adhesive heaven! I found some products I never used before like Vellum tape. Y'all know I love vellum so I was a little skeptical with a tape because everything shows thru vellum but not this stuff, nope you don't see it. I was giddy I messaged Julia(my DT leader) right away to tell her I loved it and would need a box of it lol. You can see a step by step tutorial of how this layout came together and which products I used on the Therm O Web blog.

Thanks for stopping by~

This One Time... HI

Hello Friends! I hope you're doing well. I've decided once again to give this whole blogging thing a go in hopes that I'll ...
